Let’s Answer A Few Questions…
1. What is The Swans Pod?
The Swans Pod started as a companion podcast and Instagram page to the FX/Hulu series FEUD: Capote vs. The Swans. The series captured a small part of a magical era in New York City history that was filled with intriguing personalities and shifting cultural norms across media, fashion, design, art, literature and more.
While The Swans Pod and its audience continues to grow post-series, it has evolved to include more fascinating personalities of the day and the role they each played during this wonderful time in history. From socialites to photographers to designers and many more in between, there is no shortage of topics and people that shaped a significant era in time, which we plan to continue exploring and bringing to you through in-depth posts, more photos, exclusive interviews and our podcast series. In a time when things can feel so uncertain for many of us, we hope that it can bring some joy, nostalgia and something new to each of you!
2. Why Substack & What Is The Cost To Subscribe?
Prices: $7month or $50/year ($4/month) for weekly articles, podcasts, exclusive interviews, The Book Club, shopping posts, merchandise and more.
The Swans Pod was approached by Substack in early 2024, at a time when the FX series was at its peak and the engagement for our work was in overdrive, so there was no way to imagine adding another platform to maintain, as it is a tremendous undertaking. More importantly, we wanted to see where interest in the subject would stand once the TV series ended. To our complete delight, the podcast and Instagram page have continued to reach new heights both in content engagement and following. But not without its issues.
In an attempt to bridge the audio, visual and insights onto one platform, we circled back to Substack, saw the improvements that had been made on the platform, and found it would allow us to continue to build this wonderful community under one roof. We have so many topics that have gone unpublished because they were either too detailed for Instagram or not the right content for a podcast, so this platform will allow us to showcase all of it in a meaningful, thoughtful and organized way.
3. Will The Swans Pod on Instagram continue?
Absolutely. We currently post on Instagram six days per week including new feed posts, video reels and stories. It is truly the catalyst for building such an engaged and wonderful community for those interested in the related people and topics.
4. What will happen with the Apple Podcast for subscribers?
Nothing is changing currently and Apple will continue to have our exclusive subscription podcast. We are completing an entire new season of interviews that will be live soon.
